Let's Make Queer Work

I am keen to prioritise queer work as I grow my portfolio. In line with this I wanna hear about your project if it tells a uniquely queer story that is intersectional, experimental, and unapologetically fearless

My experience is within separatistic rooms using the methods below whilst focusing on:

  • recontextualising the idea of a canon;

  • alternative narrative structures;

  • using history to inspire better futures.

Contact me with the email at the bottom of this page and let me know about your project. If it intersects with sustainable and decolonial methods then I am extra excited to hear about it!

my Methods

Autofiction

"autofiction - the falsification of one's truth about one's self - is subjective, chaotic and its diffusion is purposefully unordered... becoming forged into a single literary reality"

Sergio Blanco

Collage

"The sisters of Perpetual Indulgence all here for the anniversary of my sainting... we built the altar with a large teddy bear, a first birthday cake and a bubble bath duck. What miracles have taken place?"

Derek Jarman

Genderplay

"how to (dis)align ourselves with these forniphallicated masculine symbols in chains and leather... these representations of force, forming misogynistic parallels with power"

Pedro Lemebel

Autofiction: A tool used to support queer people in expressing their lived reality, blending concepts of authenticity and literary fiction to challenge heternormative historiography.

Collage: A tool that weaves together different performing arts, texts/material, and ideas or narratives into a singular story that can be told through alternative structures, opposing linearity.

Genderplay: A tool to fight against misogyny both within and outwith the queer community, allowing artists to freely explore what gender is and can be. Trans+ inclusive, always.
